Test Information
The GRE is a skill based reasoning test that measures critical, logical and analytical reasoning skills as well as such elements as time management and efficiency in problem solving. GRE test scores are used by admission offices of graduate programs to objectively compare applicants from different parts of the world.
The GRE has 3 components:
Analytical Writing Assessment (60 minutes) – Analysis of and Issue and Analysis of an Argument in essay form.
Verbal Reasoning (2 times 30 minutes) – 40 multiple choice questions containing Text Completions, Sentence Equivalencies and Reading Comprehension.
Quantitative Reasoning (2 times 35 minutes) – 40 multiple choice questions of the Quantitative Comparisons, Problem Solving and Numeric Entry types.
The GRE score report consists of separate scores for each of the 3 components.
